Deadlock will be the death of me

finished watching Lanterns, very weird show, disappointed by the overall plot but admire their attempt at an anticlimax as the climax, happy with the ending overall

beat the normal ending of Rubinite, a really good boss rush game with tight combat mechanics akin to nine sols (i know, comparing apples to oranges), it has the perfect balance of reaction and proactive options that always keep you on your toes, making every button you press allow you to whittle down the boss' hp directly or indirectly, also need to give the devs props for implementing more than one unique playstyle (my favourite is critical strike + dagger spam, there are no slashes in this household except for that sewer boss) my only real complaint is that I don't have the time or patience to try and complete the true ending lol, otherwise, I would definitely put this game up there together with sekiro, sifu, nine sols, and lies of p

I also watched The Invite the other day, it was REALLY good, but I've been holding off from saying its my favourite film of the year given I haven't seen You Can See Everything and History of Concrete (but yes, this implies it is currently my favourite film that I watched this year, but its just a great year for film in general)

watched the last episode of Ted Lasso season 4, although I consider it to be one of the better season finales when compared to a lot of other shows (in the sense that it manages to bring closure to a lot of its through lines), it still left a disappointing taste in my mouth for the season as a whole. the most egregious things the finale did was completely glossing over the final match. the most egregious thing for the entire season is ted’s character barely being explored throughout the season and the lack of ted and rebecca screen time when they have the best chemistry out of the whole cast even then, I would probably place season 4 on the same level as season 3 in terms of enjoyment, not bad, but doesn’t hold a candle to the first 2 seasons

went to see the Hans Zimmer concert, absolute eargasm (also felt cute might delete later idk)

MID TERMS ARE OVER AND I LOVE GETTING DRUNK (p ^ q)

new deadlock update came out, it just one-shotted my time and attention span like it was nothing

went for a 10am showing of resident evil today and was blessed with a mostly empty theatre, as someone who hasn't played any of the games, movie was pretty fun with lots of comedic elements mixed with the horror, really has that zach cregger wkuk charm, cool cinematography, 1st half was better than the 2nd, not much to write home about

quick mid season review of ted lasso after finishing s4e6: easily the best episode of the season so far with a surprise cameo from my goat, episode did a great job of exploring all the characters' relationships and was just overall fun for the entire season thus far, there is a disappointing lack of the titular character, although the women's team has been enjoyable, they still don't hold up to the men's team from the first season in terms of memorability or comradery, keeley still somehow manages to be the worst main character 2 seasons in a row (despite being one of the best for the first 2 seasons), hoping that the rest of the season manages to pull through

some things i plan on watching when i gots the time: the invite the history of concrete (hype) you can see everything (mad hype) resident evil primetime

i made this post on SMU confessions that i think is fire so i’m posting it here too Confession ID: #C026027 --- to the class part demons during the Peter Singer lecture earlier: your questions were insufficient in generating any meaningful discussions because you created them with the sole purpose of trying to garner your BQ professor’s class participation, when a simple google search or a semblance of critical thinking could have answered your needless question instead you waste the time and mind of Peter Singer, and rob the opportunity of people who have actual questions of substance to ask him except for that last guy, your question was goated and I’m sorry that Professor Singer was no longer in the headspace to properly answer it --- i’m actually so upset that i got to see a Peter Singer lecture, only to not be able to ask him anything because of these people

first linkedin post btw https://lnkd.in/p/gdYKYNKz

note to self to write about the dunning kruger effect and fashion

Erich Fromm is yapping sooooo much in To Have or To Be? I get that you need to provide a lot of examples to hammer home the point, but my god, it is so ridiculously long winded and drawn out when all I want is to move onto the next point.

first listen to weezer’s new gold album and i think it’s really good, least favourite song so far is nowhere, looking forward to listening to it more also 8am class on 3 hours of sleep yippee

its only the first week of uni and i'm stressed as hellllll

uninstalling deadlock has unshackled me from the fundamental effects of pure unfiltered addiction that the game possesses me with, no longer will i have the unquenchable urge to endlessly queue up for matches that ultimately results in losses and misappropriated time at least until next content patch arrives, yeah then i’ll probably start playing again

watched the second episode of ted lasso season 4 and i’ve changed my tune it is unbelievably astounding the difference in quality between the 1st and 2nd episode. although i wouldn’t yet say its a return to form, it very much captures the spirit that the earlier seasons had in terms of the quality of writing coach chilton is an amazing addition to the cast and i hope her character can act as a good subversive alternative to ted’s character the 1st episode genuinely feels like it was written as an afterthought in an attempt to bridge the gap between the previous season’s ending and the start of the 2nd episode, like they wrote and filmed the 2nd episode and beyond first and then realized “shit, we actually need to figure out how ted comes back to richmond in the first place”, which would makes sense when considering filming schedules
